Workspaces

Learn how to navigate around DesignSpec.

Workspace Overview

DesignSpec is made up of three main workspaces:
  • Home Workspace - landing page, projects, and customization options
  • Project Workspace - specifications, areas, revision dates
  • Admin Workspace - account settings, billing
Our website is friendly with your web browser's navigation options.
Don't be afraid to use your web browser's back and forward buttons, or bookmarks

Home Workspace

To get to this workspace click Home in the top left corner of the screen to open this workspace.

This workspace is made up of the following screens:
  • Dashboard (project name)
  • Projects
  • Spec Instructions
  • Designer Approval
  • Spec Types
  • Report Designer

Project Workspace

To get to this workspace go to the Home workspace, then Projects, then select a project.
Alternatively go to the dashboard on the Home workspace and then select one of the active projects shown.

This workspace is made up of the following screens:
  • Overview - project location, recent activity, contacts
  • Areas - organize your project into areas, such as lounge, dining room and bathrooms
  • Specs - specifications such as fabric and lighting (FF&E)
  • Vendors - vendor contact information
  • Reports - generate various reports in different formats, such as Excel and Word
Most of the screens in this workspace are related to project-specific tasks and information, such as specifications.
Vendors are currently the exception, they are global and can be used for any projects.

Admin Workspace

To get to this workspace click on your name or your design firm's name in the top right corner of the screen.
Here you can modify your personal account settings and your company settings.

This workspace is made up of the following screens:
  • My Account
  • Settings
  • Users
  • Billing
  • Privacy and Terms
